These chocolate chip cookies are delightfully soft and chewy, perfect for those who love a more tender bite. The key to achieving the desired texture lies in the balance of ingredients and the baking time.

  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup white sugar granulated
  • 2 eggs large
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add to batter along with salt.
  5. Stir in flour, and then fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
